WJOL: Joliet Golf Course Closing, Land Eyed For Warehouses
WJOL broke the big news on Thursday morning's show with host Scott Slocum.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Country Club on the city's east side has been a community fixture for more than a century, but it looks like the final round of 18-hole golf was played in 2019. WJOL Morning Show Host Scott Slocum broke the news on Thursday morning that the property is in the process of being sold and a request to rezone the land may go the Joliet City Council in March.
The land would likely be used for additional warehouses, AM-1340 WJOL radio reported.
Slocum also alerted his radio station's listeners that land surveyors were recently out walking the 18-hole golf course property, which is located at 1009 Spencer Road.
