Around 9:50 a.m., officers were sent to East Washington and South Hebbard Streets after learning someone got hit by a car.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, told police Zavala hit him with her Honda Civic after the two got into an argument inside a house.

When the young man walked near East Washington Street and South Hebbard, Zavala drove up in a Honda Civic and more arguing took place.

Joliet police believe Zavala veered her car toward the victim, striking him in the leg with the rear of the car, causing an injury to his left leg.

The victim was listed as a protected person in an order of protection involving Zavala.

After the incident, Zavala went to the Brookhaven Marketplace in Mokena, so Joliet police drove to Mokena and put Zavala into custody without incident.

After spending Saturday night in custody, Zavala was freed from the Will County Jail on Sunday afternoon after posting 10 percent of her $20,000 bail, logs reflect.
