Woman, 67, Lands In St. Joe's Hospital After Lois Place Attack
Valencia Walker, 62, of Joliet was arrested and released on a cash bond on a charge of aggravated battery. She surrendered on Thursday.

JOLIET, IL — A 62-year-old Joliet woman, Valencia Walker, surrendered herself at the Joliet police station on Thursday in connection with a violent attack that happened nearly two weeks at the Lois Place apartments that sent a 67-year-old woman to St. Joe's hospital's emergency room, Joliet police announced.
Walker was released on a cash bond on aggravated battery charges. Joliet police are in the process of finding a mugshot of her. Because she posted bond at the station, she did not need to be taken to the Will County Jail.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events led to Walker' arrest:

- Around 10 a.m. on April 15, officers went to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center for a battery victim in the emergency room.
- Officers learned that Walker arrived at an apartment in the 1000 block of Lois Place and began banging on the door. Walker gained entry into the apartment at which time she struck a 67-year-old woman in the face and arm multiple times and then left the area.
- Officers believe that Walker’s ex-boyfriend was in the apartment at the time of the incident. The victim was driven to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by a family member for treatment of injuries sustained in the attack.
- Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Walker on Tuesday and Walker turned herself in at the Joliet Police Department on Thursday.
- She was processed and released after posting a $1,000 cash bond.
