Woman Attacked At Star Inn Motel On Jefferson St: JPD

During the argument, Justin Gillett pushed her to the ground, held her down and elbowed her in the abdomen, Joliet police noted.

JOLIET, IL — A 32-year-old Joliet man who lives at the Star Inn motel on West Jefferson Street is now in Will County's Jail facing felony domestic violence charges. Joliet police say Justin Gillett attacked a woman he's in a relationship, and she was taken to the hospital.

The attack took place around 11:45 a.m. back on Oct. 26 and Gillett turned himself in at the Joliet Police Station this Tuesday. He's charged with two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of domestic violence.

In late October, Joliet police went to the Star Inn to investigate the incident.

"Gillett pushed the female to the ground, held her down, and elbowed the female in the abdomen area, causing injury," police reports show. "Gillett then let the female go, at which point she was able to leave the motel room."

Gillett ran off before Joliet squad cars arrived to the call. His victim was taken to St. Joe's hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and later released, police noted.

In November, a warrant was issued for Gillett's arrest.

On Friday, Gillett remained in the Will County Jail, unable to post 10 percent of his $25,000 bail.
