Woman Clubbed In Head With Beer Bottles: Joliet Police

Wednesday's attack happened around 7:30 p.m. inside a bedroom in the 900 block of Joliet's Prairie Avenue.

JOLIET, IL —Wednesday evening's domestic violence inside a house in the 900 block of Joliet's Prairie Avenue left a Joliet woman injured from several broken beer bottles that were used to hit in her head, according to Joliet police.

Officers were called to the house around 7:30 p.m. and 46-year-old resident Reimundo Rodriguez got hauled away in handcuffs.

Joliet police booked him into the Will County Jail on charges of domestic battery, plus three outstanding warrants out for his arrest from nearby Aurora.

Joliet police say Rodriguez attacked a woman during an argument inside his house on North Prairie.

"Rodriguez grew angry and struck the victim in the head with beer bottles, causing the glass to shatter on the victim," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English told Joliet Patch.

According to English:

Rodriguez also struck the victim in her head multiple times as she lay on a bed, and when she got up from the bed and Rodriguez struck her with the bedroom door.

The woman managed to escape from Rodriguez's grasp and got away.

Joliet police arrested Rodriguez at his property without any issues.

Rodriguez held two active arrest warrants from Aurora Police for failing to appear in court for domestic battery and traffic charges and another active warrant from Kane County Sheriff's Office
for failing to appear in court on aggravated DUI charges.

Rodriguez was booked into the Will County Jail around 10:35 p.m. His bail total is $21,000, jail logs show.
