Woman Hospitalized After Joliet Man Beats Her: Police

JOLIET, IL — A 53-year-old Joliet man was booked into the Will County Jail late Sunday night after Joliet police say he attacked a woman inside his house, beating her as she lay on the bathroom floor. The victim later went to the hospital for treatment, police said.

By 10:50 p.m., William Bostedt was booked into the jail on domestic battery charges.

About four-and-a-half hours earlier, Joliet squad cars were sent to the Ascension St. Joe's hospital emergency room where officers learned that a woman was attacked by Bostedt, around 5 a.m., Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English notified Patch.

Bostedt lives in the 1800 block of Towhee Court.

"During an argument, Bostedt struck the victim multiple times while she was on the floor of a bathroom," Joliet Police Spokesman Dwayne English informed Joliet Patch.

She said the victim ran out of the house and later sought treatment for her injuries at the hospital.

By Sunday night, Joliet officers found Bostedt at his residence on Towhee Court and placed him into custody without any problems, English indicated. Towhee Court is off Mary Lane and near Ingalls Avenue, on the city's west side.
