Woman Kicks Joliet Officer's Face, Spits On Another: Cops
This young woman who lives near Plainfield is now behind bars.

JOLIET, IL - A 20-year-old woman who lives near Plainfield kicked a Joliet Police officer in the face and then spit in the face of a second officer, according to the Joliet Police Department. The incident unfolded Thursday night resulting in the arrest of Veronica Harris, who lives in the 5300 block of Whispering Oaks Drive. She remains in the Will County Jail where her criminal charges include aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting the arrest and obstructing justice.
Joliet Police say that their officers went to the 1700 block of Hidden Oaks for a call concerning a woman causing a disturbance. "When officers asked the female what her name was, (Harris) became immediately verbally aggressive and belligerent toward the officers," police said.
When officers tried to put Harris in custody, she began struggling with police, kicking one officer in the face and spitting into the face of a second officer, police say.

"Harris was brought to the police station for booking purposes but refused to be processed, and threatened to fight the officers again," police said.
Eventually, around 1:10 a.m. Harris was delivered to the Will County Jail where she was booked and processed. On Friday, she went before a Will County judge and her bail was set at $50,000.
