Woman With Loaded Gun Attacks Joliet Victim, JPD

JOLIET, IL — Tamishia Jackson, a 37-year-old woman who used to live in Davenport, Iowa, was arrested by Joliet police officers on charges of battery obstructing a peace officer and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Joliet's officers were called to the 1400 block of Yarrow Drive for a disturbance at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. Officers learned that Jackson was at the residence, and she attacked a 55-year-old woman, police reports show.

Officers found Jackson in a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Goldenrod Drive, which is where she lives nowadays.

However, Jackson refused to exit the vehicle, despite numerous commands by the officers, police noted. She was eventually taken into custody and when officers searched her vehicle, Joliet police recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun, police spokesman Dwayne English indicated.

After being taken into custody, Jackson complained of a medical condition, so she was taken by ambulance to the Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department, according to police reports.

Jackson was released from the hospital a short time later and was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, English stated.

The Goldenrod Drive resident was freed from the Will County Jail around 11:30 a.m. on Monday after posting 10 percent of her $5,000 bail, jail logs show.
