Joliet Woman Bites Cousin, Clubs 2nd Victim With Wrench: JPD

Connie Jackson's cousin tried to calm her down and that's when she bit his arm before getting her wrench, according to Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old Joliet woman from the 100 block Notre Dame Avenue is now behind bars at the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Connie Jackson clubbed another woman with a wrench and bit the arm of her 35-year-old cousin.

A 5-year-old child was also hit in the face when Jackson slammed a car door on the boy, according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English.

Joliet police arrested Jackson on three counts of domestic battery and criminal property damage. Her bail was set at $25,000, and she remained in detention on Halloween night.

Jackson's arrest happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday on the city's west side. There was a disturbance police call to her house in the Marycrest neighborhood because she attacked several people, English noted.

  • Jackson grew angry with her 35-year-old male cousin and his 29-year-old girlfriend.
  • When Jackson’s cousin attempted to calm her down, she bit his arm.
  • Next, Jackson retrieved a wrench and chased her cousin with it, only to strike her cousin's girlfriend with the wrench.
  • When the wrench victim's 11-year-old daughter tried to stop Jackson, she hit the girl in the face.
  • The altercation moved outside, where Jackson hit a 5-year-old boy in the face with a car door, causing a minor injury.
  • Jackson used her wrench to damage the windshield and hood of the vehicle.
  • Joliet police arrived at her property and arrested her without any problems.

A Joliet Fire Department ambulance gave her a ride to St. Joe's hospital when Jackson complained of a medical issue, English noted.

Jackson did not stay at St. Joe's very long. Upon her release, Joliet police drove her to the downtown station for processing and then to the Will County Jail.

All of Jackson's victims refused medical assistance, Sgt. English stated.
