Young Man Attacks His Dad: Joliet Police

The defendant's father was treated by the Joliet Fire Department for his injuries.

JOLIET, IL - A 20-year-old man from the Plainfield area was hauled off to the Will County Jail this past weekend after Joliet Police say he attacked and hurt a member of his family. Macario Jaramillo was charged with domestic battery.

Joliet Police officers were called to the 1900 block of Arbor Fields Drive around 4 p.m. Saturday. "Upon arrival, the victim stated that his son became upset when he wasn't getting his Social Security Card or ID back from his mother, who had taken it from the residence earlier in the week," police said.

The family spat intensified and turned into a violent altercation, according to Joliet Police, "when Jaramillo jumped on the victim and began punching him in the back of his head multiple times. After the altercation, the victim called the police for help."
