2-Month Delay In La Grange Legal Battle
The village had been hoping for a ruling as early as this week.

LA GRANGE, IL – No one said the wheels of justice grind quickly.
La Grange officials had been expecting a ruling in its legal battle with a nearby quarry to arrive as soon as this week.
Now, they must wait for at least a couple more months, the village announced over the weekend.

A hearing that Cook County Judge Neil Cohen set for Thursday has been delayed to May 3.
The trial between La Grange and the Hanson Aggregates quarry in McCook was held in November.

La Grange is trying to get the right to build a drainage pipe across the quarry's property. It alleges the company cut the former pipe in 1991 in violation of an easement.
After flooding in June 2021, southside residents denounced the village for waiting on litigation to solve the flooding problem. But officials said the village would be unable to pay for the 50th Street project if it took smaller measures in the meantime.
