2014 Pivot Arts Festival begins May 28

This weekend a fun, family event called Pivot Arts Festival begins in some of Chicago’s most interesting neighborhoods. From May 28 – June 14, Pivot Arts Festival will have a mix of free and low-priced ticketed events including live music, theater, dance, a House music dance party, Art Meets Science experiments, discussions and performances for children.

Pivot Arts, founded in 2012, is an interesting new organization whose vision is to create “a vibrant community where unique collaborations between artists, businesses and organizations leads to the support and creation of innovative performances.” This vision results in a multi-arts festival where they put together groups you might not normally think about combining to the delight of audience members.

The “Art Meets Science” program is a great example of how Pivot Arts Festival pulls together different organizations. Some event titles include:

The 2014 Pivot Arts Festival “Art Meets Science” takes place throughout Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park including: Alternatives, Inc., FLATSstudio, Francesca’s Bryn Mawr, Lickity Split Custard and Sweet Shop, and Loyola University’s Mundelein Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.
