LA GRANGE, IL — The La Grange Public Library received a $50,000 grant to fund three early-literacy play based installations in the children's services department. The new installations are already there as part of the first-floor renovations that took place recently at the library.

The grant came from funds allocated by Illinois State Rep. La Shawn Ford, who has worked with the library on funding previous projects as well.

"We have already witnessed such a positive impact from the grant funds we received through Representative Ford's efforts," La Grange Public Library Executive Director Charity Gallardo said. "The interactive play pieces are utilized daily and serve as a key part of building early literacy skills through play. They also provide children in our community with a place to learn, explore and connect."
