On May 20, 2026 Lyons Township High School hosted their annual Senior Scholarship Night. At that event, one outstanding graduating LTHS senior and School District 105 alum received the D105 Foundation Scholarship.

The D105 Foundation Scholarship is for all current LTHS Seniors who attended D105 (at least one year at one of the elementary buildings and two years at Gurrie Middle School). The scholarship provides the recipient a recurring amount of $1,500.00 each year for four years which equates to a total scholarship of $6,000.00. Applicants complete an essay and a team of Foundation Board members review the essays and identify the winning entry.

Attended: 7th Avenue School /Gurrie Middle School

Plans to Attend: Marquette School of Nursing

Reflecting on her experiences in District 105 Ella noted that “District 105 allowed me to find interest in serving others. Through all the different community-based service projects I was a part of throughout my childhood, I found a passion for helping others and wanted to continue serving within high school.” She noted that the connections she made with her teachers inspired her “to pursue pediatric nursing. The La Grange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE) summer program allowed me to discover a love for working with children. Having the ability to be a role model while helping them build confidence in social and educational aspects, I realized my future needed to be surrounded by children.”

Congratulations, Ella!
