She attended Trinity High School (1976) and graduated from Rosary College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts in English after spending a magical year studying in Fribourg, Switzerland. In 2003 she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Dominican University and began a deeply fulfilling career in education. Over more than 20 years, Veronica touched the lives of thousands of students at Park Junior High in La Grange.

“Ms. Tabet” to her students, Veronica was a special teacher who had a talent to enrich and spark curiosity in both her most gifted students and those who needed extra care and attention alike. She saw and cared personally for each student who entered her classroom, and they loved and admired her. She felt fortunate to have the privilege of shaping young minds to think critically about literature and the world. Over the years, former students would often visit and write to express how much she had impacted their lives long after middle school was over.

Veronica’s most important role was being a mother, and her greatest delight was her grandchildren. As a mother and grandmother she was gentle, proud, and loyal. She inspired whimsy, laughter, joy, creativity, and imagination in all that she did. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by many, forever.

She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia (Bradley) Giordano, Elizabeth Boden, Camille (Michael) Croghan and George (Taylor) Boden; her cherished grandchildren, Frances and August Giordano, Georgia and Michael Croghan, and James H. Boden; her devoted siblings, Monica Tabet Brennan, Caesar A. (Kathleen) Tabet, Joseph (Anne) Tabet, Mary (Patrick) Leone and Josephine (Robert) Sarvis; and 15 adored nieces and nephews. Veronica was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Caesar and Patricia Tabet.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31st from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Salerno Galewood Chapel, 1857 North Harlem Avenue, Chicago. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Lombard. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
