The Shedd Aquarium has a long history as a champion of conservation from hands-on work to bringing issues to public attention. This month the Shedd Aquarium opens Amphibians, a new limited-time, special exhibition highlighting the beautiful diversity of frogs, salamanders and other amphibians.

Thirty new exhibits featuring amphibians as small as a quarter-sized frog and as large as a four-foot long salamander will give visitors a sampling of the amphibian world. The fully immersive experience features visual, audio and hands-on ways for guests to understand the fragile nature of amphibian species.

Currently amphibians of every size, shape and color live on every continent except Antarctica. One-third of the 6,000 different species are threatened and face immediate danger. Through this exhibition, the Shedd Aquarium hopes to educate visitors to the importance of these creatures s.
