Attempted Robbery Of La Grange Bank: Cops
The suspect left before any money was handed over, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – In recent days, La Grange police handled cases involving a robbery, a car burglary and bicycle thefts. Here is information from the reports:
Attempted robbery
- Someone entered FNBC Bank & Trust, 620 W. Burlington Ave., and tried to rob it about 4 p.m. June 30, but the person left before any money was handed over. The investigation continues. An FNBC bank was robbed in Western Springs late last month.
Car burglary

- A checkbook and two pairs of eyeglasses were reported stolen June 30 from an unlocked car at Harris and Seventh avenues. The glasses were valued at $350.
Bicycle thefts
- An unsecured bicycle valued at $450 was stolen July 1 from the front yard of a house in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue
- An unsecured bicycle valued at $700 was stolen July 6 from a bike rack at the parking garage at 80 Sixth Ave.
- An unsecured bicycle was stolen July 7 in the 500 block of East Avenue.
- A bicycle valued at $600 was reported stolen Tuesday from a bike rack at the train station in the 700 block of West Burlington Avenue. The bike was secured with a cable lock.
