Royal Icing Transfers
I wish I could say I was an artist and that all of my cookies are handmade works of art. However, sometimes I need help, especially when it comes to logos or something that’s has a very specific look. One technique I like to use is royal icing transfers. These are especially useful when I have a large quantity of cookies to make.

- Print out an image you want to use. Make sure you make the image the correct size to fit your cookies. In this example, my cookies are about 3” round and I sized the superhero images at 2.5” to make sure they fit.
- Next, place the image under wax paper. Trace the image with royal icing and allow to dry. Fill in the colors as needed. Leave image to dry overnight.
- Gently pry off all the dried transfers. The transfers can be very fragile so take your time doing this step.
- Ice your cookies. While they are still wet, place the transfer on them. Dry overnight. Alternatively, you can ice your cookie and let it dry. Once it’s dry, you can adhere the transfer using a some royal icing as the glue.
