Employment Event Offers Free Workshops and Breakfast on Saturday, February 23.

On Saturday, February 23, five free job skills seminars will be served up, along with a complimentary continental breakfast, to people seeking skills for re-entering the workforce. The 2nd Annual Back to Work event also welcomes people who may be employed but are seeking to brush up on their skills for planned career transitions.

Event participants will have the opportunity to attend:

  • Presentation Perfect, offered by Donna Desai of LCPC and Carolyn Redding of Right Side Out.
  • Resume Writing and Interview Skills, taught by Lindsey Draznik of Express Employment Professionals, Brookfield.
  • Using LinkedIn as a Career Tool, presented by Ann Wiegand of Wiegand Marketing and Advertising.
  • Networking for Success, presented by Jean Kuhn, career coach at Bounce Solutions and owner of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory – La Grange.
  • Recruiting Trends

Hosted by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and sponsored by the First National Bank of La Grange, attendance is free to those who register by Friday, February 22rd. Breakfast is sponsored by Sam’s Club of Hodgkins.

“This is a unique opportunity,” said Katherine Leibforth, WSCCI Foundation Director. “Area professionals are willing to invest in their workforce, and contribute their resources to residents who have been hit by unemployment or underemployment.”
