First ever Shamrock Pizza
Be the first to try the first 'Shamrock Pizza' in the country inspired by our local Western Springs Girl, "Bridget McMahon Fitsgerald "Chicago's St.Patrick's day Queen" Congratulations Bridget !
So Have you ever seen a Shamrock Pizza ?
It occured to me during Valentines Day at 'Aurelio's Pizzeria' in La Grange offering up a heart shaped Pizza for the romancers amongst us.
So walking along one day, it occurred to me , with all the Irish heritage in the area and south suburbs, why is it I've never seen a Shamrock Pizza anywhere?

After googling around a little it was clear nobody did one. It seemed a 'No brainer', especially after all the Parades, block parties and St. Patrick's day or even just an Irish birthday bash or wake, that it would seem really neat after a cold day out supporting your favorite parades, why would you fight the crowds in an Irish Pub when you have a long table at your favorite Pizza Place, a picture of green beer or a Guiness or two and few Shamrock pizzas and in the comfort of your own neighborhood too.
So I went to My Favorite Pizza Place in La Grange and spoke to Miguel the Kitchen manager and explained to him an idea I had. I went out and found a large Shamrock for him, cut it out and we made up the dough, cut it out and played around with a few ideas...and Begorrah!" would ya look what popped out of the oven"? We Played around with a few more ideas , and you could basically make one up now with any ingrediants you want.

I chose, cheese on all of it, 1/3 green peppers, middle 1/3 , just cheese, and 1/3 tomatoes so that I could have the flag tri-color effect! and a wee lil shamrock cut out of a green pepper garnished in the middle.
So If you want to take over the best Pizza house in the area and force it to go "green" for a day or two or a week!( "go ERIN'elio's ) then surprise all your friends and tell them where you are going to celebrate after the parade.
Now that our local girl from Western Springs- 'Bridget McMahon Fitsgerald' was voted Chicago's Parade Queen...so with that in mind and she was part of the inspirational idea behind this pizza pie. " The Paddy Pie " or " Shamrock Pizza" come on in and try and make up one with your own ideas too and post your ideas on your facebook and ours
