La Grange Salt Cave Celebrates Opening with Wine Toast and Ribbon Cutting

Have you seen the salt cave? Local business and civic leaders came out in force to celebrate the grand opening of Primal Oceans Salt Cave with a ribbon cutting and champagne toast.

The owners of Primal Oceans Salt Cave at 8 S. La Grange Road were joined on Tuesday by La Grange Business Association board members and village dignitaries in a wine toast and giant ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of the unique salt cave and its spa-like aqua treatment rooms.

Owners Karen Stoelinga of Aurora, IL and Peggy McDonald of Sheridan, IL selected La Grange as the site of their new venture based on its vibrant business community and close proximity to Metra.  Over seven tons of imported pink Himalayan salt line the walls and floor of the cave which was designed by a noted salt cave specialist. The large amount of pure salt used in the cave creates a microclimate which mimics that of underground natural salt caves and is reputed to have relaxation and therapeutic benefits.

The La Grange Business Association is a consortium of businesses, services and non-profit organizations that strive to energize and enhance the local business climate through events, networking and advocacy.
