Seeds of Greatness Award Winners Feted April 17

Don’t mind if we toot your horn a bit! The western suburbs are a breeding ground for greatness. You live and breathe it every day at school, home, work and play: the magnanimous spirit of your neighbors, your area businesses and the students that will make up the future workforce in the region.

On Wednesday, April 17, the highest form of that generosity will be celebrated at the 39^th Annual Seeds of Greatness Awards Gala. The Seeds of Greatness Awards honor persons and businesses that have contributed to the success of our region through outstanding achievement in community service, public service, or business. This year’s award winners are: 

President's Award: Daniel Pancake, USI Insurance

Business of the Year Award: Courtright's Restaurant, Willow Springs  

Business Leader of the Year: Thom Serafin, Serafin & Associates 

Community Collaboration: Helping Hand Center and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage La Grange  

Public Servant Award: Cook County Commissioner and McCook Mayor Jeffrey Tobolski 

Young Person of the Year Award: Matthew Serafin, Nazareth Academy

Members of the community are invited to celebrate these winners at the William Tell Holiday Inn in Countryside at 5:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce & Industry and sponsored by Community Memorial Foundation, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, MB Financial Bank-La Grange Park & Countryside, Community Bank of Western Springs, Heartland Bank & Trust and the Greater LaGrange YMCA. 

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception and be followed by dinner and awards at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $70 per person or tables of ten for $650.
