Brainard Avenue Train Crossing Reopens After Repairs

Work widens crossing to help commuters and pedestrians.

The Brainard Avenue crossing has reopened at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks after being closed for seven days.

Crews worked on the tracks there beginning  from Thursday, July 19 and continuing through Thursday, July 26. to widen the crossing by nine feet to better accommodate commuters and pedestrians.

Traffic was diverted on Burlington and Hillgrove avenues to the Kennsington Avenue crossing to the east.

Work was performed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. due to heavy commuter use during the morning and evening hours.
