OptWell Launches Walk with a Doc Program in the La Grange Area Along with Community Partners

Healthy Habits Start with One Step
Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of each month 11:00am to 12:00pm.
Walk with a Doc is a free community walking program that is for people of all ages and fitness levels. During each walk, local physicians and healthcare professionals share practical, evidence-based health tips, answer questions, and walk alongside participants in a relaxed, supportive environment.
It’s a simple way to get moving, connect with neighbors, and learn strategies to improve your health.
As part of OptWell’s mission to inspire wellness throughout Chicago’s western suburbs, Walk with a Doc promotes the everyday habits that have the greatest impact on long-term health. Each walk encourages regular movement while reinforcing OptWell’s five healthy habits: Eat Well, Get Moving, Mental Wellness, Quality Sleep, and Manage Health. Together, these evidence-based habits can help reduce the risk of chronic disease and support a healthier, happier life.
Whether you’re taking your first walk or have been active for years, everyone is welcome. Come walk, learn, connect, and discover how small steps can lead to lasting health.
May-September, walks will occur at Countryside Park (630 61st St, Countryside, IL 60525). Meet by the gazebo and playground near the South Parking lot, just West of the tennis courts).
October-April, and in case of inclement weather, walks will occur at the Park District of La Grange Recreation Center (536 East Avenue, La Grange, IL 60525).
