Chicago Dancing Festival opens this week

The Chicago Dancing Festival runs through Saturday. Free, stand-by tickets are still available.

This is the week Chicago Dance fans wait for all year long. The Chicago Dancing Festival begins Tuesday, August 25 with an outstanding line-up at the Harris Theater. The final performance is Saturday, August 29 in Millennium Park.

How can you get tickets? The free ticket distribution was “sold out” a few weeks ago. Most people think that means they won’t get to see a show, but stand-by tickets mean there are still opportunities to see the shows.

Every year people find themselves unable to use the free tickets they already possess. This is where stand-by tickets come into play. Stand-by lines start forming about an hour before the shows start. Any seats not claimed by 15 minutes prior to curtain time become stand-by seats.

As all tickets are general admission, there is no guarantee that your group of six will be able to sit together or that you’ll all get in. The Chicago Dancing Festival line-up makes it worth the risk, though. Here’s the current line-up is below. Be sure to make plans today to see these amazing performances.
