The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. Is. 11:5-7
This picture of what the kingdom of heaven will be like from Isaiah gives us a beautiful vision of a future for those who believe in Jesus. If even certain animals which are normally predator and prey can live together in harmony, just imagine what it will be like for us?
I also love the picture of a little child leading them. Many of the adults in this world have not been doing a very good job here on earth doing the leading. Politicians argue rather than govern, star athletes are arrested for all kind of sordid behaviors, bosses belittle employees, and employees embezzle from businesses. Prisons are full of people who have killed, stolen, sold drugs, or have been convicted of terrorism. Our children are exposed to this every day in the news. We need the peaceable kingdom on earth which, because of sin, we will not see on this side of heaven.

A little child will lead them. This week both for Grandparents’ Day and the 10:45 church service on Sunday, the primary grades will lead us in worship with their musical Malice in the Palace, the story of Esther. One of the benefits of a Lutheran school is that we provide opportunities for children to lead and witness their faith to us. Please do not just think of this as a good show put on by children and a talented group of musicians. This is so much more. These children are witnessing God’s truths to us. May their message inspire us all.
The school is also holding an open house Sunday from noon until 2:00. Come visit with your children. Meet the teachers and tour the school. Our church’s mission is to help people Meet Jesus, Experience the support of a church, and help others to Live as His disciples. This school is the embodiment of the church’s mission for children.
