Cirque du Soleil performances start tonight

Cirque du Soleil is an aw-inspiring mix of circus, theater and music.

Cirque du Soleil is back in Chicago this summer with a gorgeous new production called Kurios -- Cabinet of Curiosities. This show fills the United Center parking lot through September 20.

Held under its trademark blue and yellow big top, Kurios is an all-new show written and directed by Michel Laprise. He brings his experience with big productions, which range from artistic direction for Madonna’s Super Bowl Half-time show and directing her MDNA tour to the launch of Microsoft’s Kinect console which was broadcast live on MTV, to this touring production. Laprise currently serves at Cirque du Soleil’s artistic director, so he brings all his big show experience to the blue and yellow big top.

Kurios is described as “an alternate yet familiar past, a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imaginations.” The acts include an invisible circus, Russian cradle duo, aerial bicycle, contortion, rola bola, yo yos, theater of hands and many more.
