Fast Facts: Two of the best players in the West Suburban Silver square off in this battle of conference unbeatens. Hinsdale Central power forward Matt Rafferty, an unsigned senior, averages 21.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while leading his team in assists (47), steals (21) and blocks (17). Lyons guard Harrison Niego, who is also undecided on a college destination, leads the Lions with 19.9 points and 2.5 steals per game. Lyons is coming off of a third-place finish at the 32-team Jack Tosh Tournament at York. Phipps (11.4) and Connor Niego (8.9) flank Harrison Niego on the offensive end. The Lions are playing without senior forward Sean Lannan, who was averaging 8.8 points per game. Hinsdale Central dropped its opener at the prestigious Proviso West Tournament but rallied for three straight wins to end the tournament. The senior-laden Red Devils are coming off of two straight conference titles and their first 20-win season in 14 years. Bradshaw (11.3 PPG) and Ives (6.9 PPG) anchor the back court, while Kiernan (10.7 PPG) helps Rafferty out up front. The Red Devils have a good balance of interior and perimeter skill. The winner of this game will be the favorite to win the WSC Silver crown.
