Fast Facts: It’s a big early season test for two of the western suburbs’ best lacrosse squads. Lyons has won 11 West Suburban Conference championships since 2003, including last season. Faucher leads the way. He set a program record with 53 assists last season, while also scoring 33 goals. Kidder burst onto the scene as a freshman with 32 goals and 22 assists last year. The Lions sandwiched a 6-1 win over Maine South and a 10-5 win over Hinsdale Central around a 7-5 loss to York. Oak Park-River Forest has a balanced attack thus far this season, led by Hanley’s seven goals. Blaha has scored four times, while Canepa contributed three goals. Van Spankeren has three assists and two goals. Howell leads the team with four assists, with Mahanes chipping in three helpers. The Huskies are coming off of an 11-6 loss to Evanston. They started the season with an 11-2 win over Lane Tech and a 6-5 win over Schaumburg.
