Cops Find Heroin in Harlem Avenue 'Slumper's' Car: Prosecutors

Man was found unresponsive in car after he drove across Harlem Avenue onto parkway in Lyons, prosecutors say.

A man found unresponsive in his vehicle was charged with possession of a controlled substance, prosecutors said in court on Monday.

Lyons police responded to report of a vehicle that had rolled across Harlem Avenue onto a parkway in the 3900 block around 11:40 p.m. Oct. 3.

When officers arrived, Louis Garcia, 22, was passed out in the vehicle. As officers tried to wake him up, they saw a baggie with a powdery substance in the center console, that field tested positive for heroin, prosecutors said.

“This is zero tolerance. If you test positive, I’m going to revoke your bond,” the judge said. “Unless you want to drop dead because that’s how you die taking this crap, presuming you’re innocent.”
