Couple Overdoses On Heroin In McDonald's Restroom: Police

LYONS, IL — A man and woman, one of whom had to be revived with Narcan, were found unconscious Monday in the men’s room of a Lyons fast food restaurant, prosecutors said. Anthony Cantore, 21, of Berwyn, and Lisa Nakutis, 21, of Lyons, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance. Nakutis was also charged with a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lyons police were called to the McDonald’s Restaurant, 7850 Ogden Ave., around 6:30 p.m. May 6 for a report of two people who had overdosed in the men’s restroom. When officers arrived, Cantore had to be revived with two doses of naloxone, the prosecutor said. Nakutis woke up on her own and was holding a syringe in her hand, according to the charges.

The two were found in possession of five bags each of a substance that tested positive for heroin, the prosecutor said. Nakutis and Cantore were released on a $10,000 I-bond along with pretrial monitoring. They’re due back in court June 3 in Bridgeview.
