Some of the training may involve blanks to simulate training noises, police said. Residents also may hear officers yelling commands such as "clear left," "clear right" and "room clear."
Officers plan to wear high-visibility yellow and orange safety vests. Most of the training is set for the basement and first floor of the main academic building at 100 S. Brainard Ave.

Officers also may conduct tactical movements outside near the west end of the Vaughn Building on the north side of Cossitt Avenue.
Police often like to tell the public about planned training, so as not to alarm residents.
In April, Cook County sheriff's canine officers conducted training at two Western Springs parks, prompting calls to local police. The village later said Cook County failed to inform local officials.
