LA GRANGE, IL — A group of quick-thinking employees prevented two thieves from leaving the Sprint Store on La Grange Road with anything valuable Thursday night.

La Grange police were called to the store at 115 N. La Grange Road just after 7 p.m., and when they arrived they learned that two people came into the store just prior and one was armed with a handgun. The two people ordered two employees to the back of the store, where a third employee was working.

According to police, the two intruders then "demanded access" to all the phones that were locked up in the backroom safe.

But that's when the employees were able to get in the back room before the intruders and locked the door, police said. Since all the valuable items were in that room with them, nothing was taken.

The intruders quickly fled after they were locked out of the room. Police searched the area for them but could not find them.
