Enjoy the Health Benefits of Butter

Have your cake and eat it too when it comes to butter

Coconut has so many health benefits, it is great to find ways to implement it into your daily regimen.  Butter is a great source of fat.  It has many health properties and does amazing things for the brain, heart, skin, hair, nails and more.  I encourage people to eat butter to improve their overall health.  I consume about 5-8 tablespoons of butter per day.  My cholesterol ratio is at 1.27 (I want it at 1.00).  For those who are not familiar with cholesterol ratios, this number is more important than how high your cholesterol is.  To determine your ratio, you take your HDL levels and divide that by the total number of LDL (vLDL and LDL).  The number you have left over is your cholesterol ratio.  1.00 is considered ideal and medical doctors only see this number in text books.

So there you have Cholesterol 101.  Now, consuming good fats in your diet are crucial for vital health.  Some people don’t want to spend the extra money to get great quality butter that is grass fed.  I don’t blame them.  I love raw, organic butter but the price can be pretty steep.  Instead of consuming butter, how about making your own coconut butter.  I started using coconut butter about 6 months ago after I saw it at Wholefoods.  When I saw how much I used and how much it cost, I realized I needed to find something that would be cost effective and I can still enjoy a very healthy source of butter.  This is where the recipe comes into play.  I have been using this recipe for the last 4 months and it has been cost effective and I continue to have my daily fat intake that I desire PLUS, I get all the great benefits of what coconut oil has to offer!

This recipe is the most simplest recipe I have found.  It is using organic coconut flakes with a food processor.  Great products that are pure and top quality.  I purchase 30lbs of fine coconut flakes and that would normally take about 4-5 months to use up.  With coconut flakes, you can make coconut milk and much more which I will have in another post.  So, try this recipe, enjoy the amazing benefits of coconut and have fun with it.
