Escape Room Coming to La Grange

Just Escape Room will be opening the first weekend in June.

LA GRANGE, IL - An escape room facility is coming to La Grange. Just Escape Rooms is located at Suite 204, 512 W. Burlington Ave., in La Grange. People come out to escape rooms to be locked in a themed room for 60 minutes, and they are usually given clues to solve some sort of puzzle or riddle that will help you out of the room.

"My family and I started doing a few escape rooms probably about a year or two ago, and really enjoyed them," owner and operator of Just Escape Rooms, Brian Hoffman said. "It was kind of an adventure for us."

Hoffman, a Clarendon Hills resident, has a background in technology, and was able to utilize that in creating the escape rooms.

"We had done so many rooms, so we knew what we liked and what we didn't," Hoffman said.

Just Escape Rooms features three and a half escape rooms, three of which are full one-hour rooms, and one which is a shorter, twenty minute room.

Hoffman chose the 1,900 square foot building in La Grange because, "we knew what was in the area, it has ton of energy."

He added that the area has lots of great restaurants, but there weren't a lot of entertainment anchors. He hopes to change that with his escape room business.

Usually, escape rooms have a theme, and though some tend to lean toward horror, Hoffman has kept his rooms family-friendly.

"You could bring your children, and have a good time," he said.

The room themes include "The Secret" where you will go in dad's hobby room and try to find out what secret he is keeping. The twenty-minute room is called "The Closet," where the door locks and you have to find your way out by solving puzzles and clues.

Other rooms include "Grandpa's Attic," where your adventurer grandpa has passed away and has stored his treasure in the attic, and it's up to you to find it. The last room is the "Split Personality" room, where your team is split in two and you have to work together to get out of the room.

The larger escape rooms are meant for four to 10 people, while the smaller room is for 2-3 people. The price for the bigger rooms is $35 per person or $200 for the whole room, and the smaller room is $25 per person or $40 for the whole room.

Just Escape Rooms plans to open the first weekend of June.
