3rd Annual Jazz and Blues Fest comes to La Grange Park

Get ready for an evening of smooth jazz and funky blues as the Community Park District of La Grange Park presents the 3rd Annual Jazz and Blues Fest on Friday, September 14th. Starting at 6:00pm and going until 11:00pm, audiences will enjoy music from three different groups, each with their own unique sounds and takes on what true jazz and blues sounds like. This is sure to be a great way to close out the summer and jump into fall. It’s also a great extension to the night if you attend the West End Art Fair, which ends at 9:00 pm, and are looking for a way to continue your evening.

During this event, families from all over are encouraged to come out, bring neighbors and friends, and simply enjoy one last night of music under the stars. Admission is free! Audience members will enjoy music all night long, starting with “John Chadwick Trio”, a local band, playing from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Next up will be “Rock ‘n Johnny Burgin Band” playing from 7:15 to 8:45pm. Closing out the night will be “Funbrella”, formerly known as “Thick Stix”, with members consisting of Lyons Township High School alumni.

On hand there will be numerous vendors, including a Karmel Korn/Cotton Candy tent, Chase Events selling brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, root beer/soda and shaved ice, Art Work & Sunglasses, the Ready Teddy Preschool Candy Store, and a beer tent sponsored by the La Grange Park Little League. Proper ID’s will be required to purchase alcohol at this event.

For all car enthusiasts, once again the “Cruise In” will be ongoing throughout the event. If you or someone you know has a unique, sporty, or collectors car to show off, this is the place to do it. The first 50 car exhibitors will receive two (2) free drink tickets. Last year, some creative individuals cruised in on some great older bicycles and proudly displayed them.

The Jazz and Blues Fest would not be as successful as it is without the sponsors for this year. The Community Park District wishes to extend many thanks to platinum sponsor Dr. James Discipio, D.D.S., silver sponsors Call One and Impact Dance Studio, and additional sponsor Village Potters.
