Students from 7th Avenue School (La Grange, IL) will be feeling good on Friday. They will be walking around the school to raise funds for Jumpstart* and enrichment programs sponsored by the school PTO. Students have been collecting pledges for the past month and will walk laps around the school grounds.
The afternoon walkathon is more than just a fundraiser — it's also a great example of healthy exercise.
*Jumpstart (www.jstart.org) is a national early education organization that helps these children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be successful in school, setting them on a path to close the achievement gap before it is too late.
