The Bookies are the featured artists for June at La Grange Art League. Barbara Erikson, Ginni Guzior, Carla Klausler, Cheryl Mahowald, Mary Hagerty Sabo and Marilyn L. Schweitzer have been "laughing, crying and binding books" for over five years, says Marilyn Schweitzer. "We are unified by our addiction to hand bookbinding and a desire to continue learning." These artists use different surface treatments, handmade papers, pulp painting and decorative knot tying to create their artform. Over 30 different types of bindings will be represented.
