Fire Damages La Grange Park House

The fire was contained within a half hour, department says.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL – A house in La Grange Park sustained major damage in a fire Thursday night, authorities said.

Firefighters responded shortly after 8 p.m. to a house in the 400 block of North Park Road.

The house was under renovation, with the owners living elsewhere, according to a news release from the La Grange Park Fire Department. No one was reported injured.

The damage was estimated at $200,000. The fire was brought under control within a half hour, the release said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A number of other departments responded, including La Grange, Western Springs, Westchester and McCook.

The Riverside, Lyons and Oak Brook departments covered both La Grange Park fire stations for any other calls that may have come in during the fire.
