
In this unique workshop, we'll explore the important role that the core muscles play in our yoga practice. We'll review the anatomy of the core muscles, including the abdominal and back muscles as well as other lesser known, but essential, muscle groups. We'll practice specific core strengthening and stabilization techniques to build a greater awareness of, and ability to engage the core muscles in our yoga practice. By utilizing key core muscles in your yoga postures, you will be able to properly support your joints and spine helping you to decrease and avoid common limitations and injuries in your practice. When you approach your practice from a place of strength, stability and balance, you can then safely find the "edge" in your yoga postures, exploring your individual possibilities. The principles and poses you learn in this workshop can be applied in both your yoga practice and in your everyday life, helping you to foster your long-term good health! Open to all level students.
