Focus on Low Back, Hips and Psoas Releases with Freya
Saturday 1/16/2016 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
In this special workshop, you will learn proper body mechanics and specific techniques and poses to release the psoas and free tension and restrictions in the low back and hips. The psoas is a large muscle that attaches directly from the lumbar spine to the inner femur bone, wrapping through the pelvis. When kept limber, the psoas muscle supports an upright posture and a flexible lower spine and hips. When the psoas is strained or contracted, it can lead to limitations in free range of motion and an increase of lower back and hip pain. During class, we’ll focus on methods to keep the psoas muscle strong and limber through core strengtheners, stabilization and mobilization techniques. This class includes valuable information to utilize both for your yoga practice and your everyday life! Open to all level students. Take home handout included.
Fee: $30 pre-registered, $35 at the door
