Four Community Leaders Join Board of Interfaith Community Partners
Four local leaders join non-profit board
“Service to the community” is the hallmark of the four new Board members of Interfaith Community Partners (ICP). In welcoming them, Executive Director Janet Garreau notes that each brings an understanding of the importance of the role of local care agencies in supporting individuals and families in need. In addition to over ten years of combined service to ICP, all of them are active in their churches, in civic life, and in the local business community.
A retired manufacturing manager, Benjamin Boyd of Indian Head Park is treasurer of his condo association and assists seniors in their tax preparation. In his home church of St. Francis Xavier he is a “kitchen angel” cooking for those in need, a Eucharistic Minister and lector / commentator. Ben and his wife, Barbara, are the parents of four adult children and grandparents to nine grandchildren.
Western Springs resident Ann Marie Hickey is a real estate broker, member of the Business Association and involved with the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce. For the Village of Western Springs, she has been a Trustee as well as a Commissioner for the Recreation Department. She and her husband, Al, have lived in the area for 24 years and have three children.

Calling La Grange home for over 40 years, Mary Beth Ford recently retired after seventeen years on the staff of St. Cletus Parish staff—working with youth as well as on social concerns of the parish. She also brings private sector and teaching experience to her role on the Board. She and her husband, Richard, have four children and seven grandchildren
Reflecting her passion for helping older adults, former ICP Executive Director, Aileen Pendleton of Western Springs is joining the Board to help continue to build programs that encourage active healthier older adults. She and her husband, Neil, have lived in Western Springs for 17 years and have three children. Aileen is an avid, serial volunteer in every facet of her life, from church to school and local civic organizations.

Interfaith Community Partners serves the needs of residents in 17 west suburban communities working through more than 100 volunteers drawn from a coalition of fourteen area churches. Over 300 older adults and persons with disabilities are regularly provided transportation to attend medical appointments, meetings, and other special events.
Of special note is the upcoming annual ICP fundraiser, Drive Me to the Moon, with music by The Nick Pontarelli Band on Friday, September 23, 2016 beginning at 7 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy an entertaining evening including a silent auction, paddle raise, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. In addition to dancing, the Loyola Medical Students group, the Healing Notes, will be performing.
