It has been 2.5 years since the nuclear melt down at Fukushima, Japan. Since then, every single day there is 300 tons of nuclear radioactive waste being dumped into the Pacific ocean. The EPA in the US have raised their standards on radiation levels to state this is what safe would be so it doesn't create alarms in the US. The state getting hit with the most radiation is Hawaii and the second is the entire west coast. What does this mean to our food supply and fish supply? Is it safe to consume fish from the Pacific? There is still hope for what we can consume so make sure when it comes to buying fish, the rule is, WILD Alaskan Salmon, Copper Salmon or WILD Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. There are many places of where you can purchase this. But make sure you do not consume fish from the Pacific as it has been swimming in high radiation level waters. Until next time,
