Grand Avenue Preschool in La Grange to host Open House Thursday, April 23

Grand Avenue Preschools will host an open house at their La Grange location on Thursday, April 23 from 6:30pm-7:30pm. The open house will give parents the opportunity to meet teachers, see the classrooms and learn more about the curriculum. The preschool is located inside the 7th Avenue School in La Grange, 701 S. Seventh Avenue.

New to the La Grange location for the 2015-2016 school year will be a Kindergarten readiness class for 4 and 5 year olds. Parents can choose a MWF morning option or a 5 day afternoon option. All programs at Grand Avenue focus on fully preparing children academically and socially for their elementary education years. Grand Avenue Directors keep in regular contact with local area grade schools to use the same teaching tools as they do, such as Jolly Phonics© and Handwriting without Tears© to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten.

Along with an emphasis on social and emotional development, the curriculum at Grand Avenue also includes math, language arts, natural sciences, music, art and fine/gross motor stimulation. Their program is aligned with the Illinois learning standards, developed by the Illinois State Board of Education and Grand Avenue is proud to be the only preschool in this area nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).

Along with the Kindergarten Readiness programs, Grand Avenue offers a morning preschool program for 3 year olds and Before and After School Care for children up to 5th grade, providing door to door bus service to Grand Avenue from SD105 elementary schools.

Grand Avenue is a local, family owned business with owners who are on site at each location every day. The school is proud to have a high retention rate of experienced teachers and each teacher at Grand Avenue receives 24 hours of in-service training per year plus Red Cross certification in first aid and CPR.
