Holiday Events Hosted At La Grange Library

LA GRANGE, IL — Join in on the fun of the holiday season at La Grange Public Library. The library will host several events in December for all ages. Events will include crafts, photo opportunities and a celebration of holidays around the world.

Green Screen Holiday Photo Op

• This event will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 2. Drop by Studio 10 West and have a holiday photo taken in front of the green screen. You can pick from a variety of fun, festive backgrounds. (Don’t wear green—even if you’re an elf!) Drop-in.

Holidays Around the World

• This event will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2. Join the library on the evening of La Grange’s Hometown Holiday as Kidworks Touring Theatre brings alive holiday traditions celebrated by children around the world. Come spin the Chanukah Dreidel, perform in 'The First Christmas Tree story' from Germany, beat the Djembe Drum in an African-American Kwanzaa Fest, parade under the Chinese Dragon and sing Feliz Navidad. This program is loaded with audience participation and is fun for the entire family.

DIY Peppermint Bath Bombs

• This event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7. Join the library and make a fizzy festive peppermint bomb of your very own. Teens, tweens and adults welcome. Registration required.

Holiday Messy Art

• This event will be held from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 14. Drop by and let your preschooler discover and create. Tables will be set up with various holiday themed art projects. Stay for one or try them all. Dress to get messy.

Candy House Creations

• This event will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 15. Drop-in for the library's special holiday family craft event and create a candy house using sweet treats. Supplies will be provided; all you need to bring is creativity and a bit of holiday cheer.
