iDig: Uncover the Art of Filmmaking @ Your Library

As summer blockbuster movie season gets underway, local residents can learn about the art of filmmaking at the Brookfield Public Library. Local filmmakers John Scaletta and Craig Bass will present iDig: Uncovering the Art of Filmmaking at the library on Tuesday, June 25 at 7 p.m.

John Scaletta and Craig Bass are the owners of Motion Source Video Solutions in LaGrange.  The duo made headlines back in February 2013 with the launch of their short film, iDig, which tells the story of a down on his luck man who attempts to dig up a time capsule from the 1970's that contains an original Apple 1 computer.  The film was written and directed by Scaletta and Bass and filmed locally. Scaletta, a resident of Brookfield, and Bass, a LaGrange resident, included many familiar locales, including Pleasantdale School in Burr Ridge and Now Serving Café in LaGrange, in their film. iDig also features music by LaGrange musician Angelo Manzoeillo.

In their program for the Brookfield Public Library, Scaletta and Bass will present a look at the art of filmmaking and discuss the process of filming iDig.  A screening of iDig will follow their presentation. “The Brookfield Public Library is thrilled to be hosting iDig as part of our summer programs lineup” states Christy Eyre, Partnerships & Public Relations Librarian. “Not only does iDig correspond nicely with Dig into Reading, this year’s summer reading theme, but we also think it is important to spotlight the talent that lies within our community.”
