Interfaith Community Partners Names New Director
New leadership at La Grange based non-profit serving older adults and persons with disabilities

Twenty-three year resident of La Grange Park, Janet Garreau, has been named Executive Director by the Board of Directors of Interfaith Community Partners (ICP). In appointing her, ICP Board President Bob Grecco said the Board was “searching for someone who was passionate about our mission--helping older adults and persons with disabilities to live independently in the community. We believe we have found that passion in Janet.” Most recently, Garreau managed the Office of Ministry for medical, nursing, and graduate students at the Loyola University Chicago, Health Sciences Division, in Maywood. Janet’s prior experience includes working in the Volunteer Office and as Director of Senior Friends at La Grange Memorial Hospital, which sparked her interest in working with older adults.
Janet graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Management, specializing in Social Services and Non-Profit Management. Janet and her husband, Bill, live in LaGrange Park where they raised their four children. They are active members of St. Francis Xavier parish. When not at work, she enjoys bike riding, running, reading, and entertaining friends and family in their home.
Founded in 1999 with grants from the Community Memorial and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundations, Interfaith Community Partners serves the needs of residents in 17 west suburban communities. ICP works through more than 100 volunteers drawn from a coalition of fourteen area churches. Over 300 older adults and persons with disabilities are regularly provided transportation to attend medical appointments, meetings, and other special events. This physical and emotional support allows older adults the chance to continue their stay in family homes.
