Interfaith Community Partners Welcomes New Board Members

Interfaith Community Partners mission is to maximize the independence and well being of older adults.

Interfaith Community Partners, a non-profit organization that works together with volunteers to provide rides to older adults in the Lyons, Proviso, and Riverside Townships, is pleased to welcome the following to their Board of Directors:

Bethany O’Brien

Bethany O’Brien presently Vice President and Trust Officer at FNBC La Grange with extensive expertise in the fields of trust and estate administration and asset management. After receiving a Juris Doctor in Law from Chicago- Kent School of Law, she has worked her entire career as a corporate fiduciary. Previously serving as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer of the Private Client Group at Commerce Trust Company, O’Brien oversaw the administration of trust, estate, and investment agency assets with a focus on high net worth clients. Previously, O’Brien has also served as Assistant Vice President at Citizens First National Bank in Princeton, Illinois, and South Side Bank, in Peoria, Illinois.

Bethany resides in Oak Park, IL, with her husband Dan, a physician, and her son Edward. In her free time, Bethany enjoys playing the cello and traveling. She is passionate about community service, having served on the boards of many central Illinois non-profits, including the Peoria Ballet, and the Junior League of Peoria.

Mary Pat Flaherty

Mary Pat Flaherty is an attorney practicing in Western Springs, focusing primarily on the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration for individuals and their families. Mary Pat graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago in 1983 and earned her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1986. After working in two large Chicago law firms, Mary Pat moved her practice to the Western suburbs, where in 2003 she established her own law practice.

Volunteer positions have included La Grange Park Public Library District board member and president, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout Troop Treasurer, and several positions at St. Francis Xavier Catholic parish, including Eucharistic Minister and Coordinator and Finance Council member.

Mary Pat is married to Mike and they have four children ranging in age from 21 to 27.

Ken Kostal

Ken began his career as an instructor at the University of Illinois where he received a BS and MS in Architectural Engineering. He joined the engineering firm of Sargent and Lundy where He worked for 35 years. He retired as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of International Power.

Ken has served on the Boards of LaGrange Memorial Health Systems, YMCA LaGrange, and Helping Hand. He was active with the University of Illinois Development Board. He is a member of Saint Francis Xavier Church in LaGrange.

Kenneth Kostal and his wife Judy reside in LaGrange. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
