La Grange-Area Man Violates Order Of Protection: Cops

Ankle monitor activation alerts authorities about the local man's presence, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:

Order of protection

  • Daniel Barcelona, 56, of La Grange Highlands, was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday near 58th Street and Brainard Avenue on a charge of violating an order of protection. Officers were called to the area after being notified by Cook County sheriff's deputies of an ankle monitor activation. Three weeks ago, Barcelona was arrested on charges of criminal trespass to a residence and violation of an order of protection.

  • Ricardo Varela Rendon, 21, of Cicero, was cited about 9 p.m. Saturday at La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue on charges of no valid driver's license and driving without lights when required.

Damage

  • Someone used fireworks to damage the inside of a portable toilet Sunday at Leitch and Cossitt avenues.

Theft

  • Power tools were reported stolen Tuesday from a construction site in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue. The tools were valued at $2,000.
  • A purple women's Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen Saturday from an open detached garage in the 100 block of Washington Avenue. It was valued at $500.
