La Grange Armed Robbery Detailed, Suspect Identified
Police are looking for handgun they believe was used in the robbery.

LA GRANGE, IL — A Maywood man arrested in connection with the armed robbery of 7-Eleven, 9600 E. Ogden Ave., brandished a gun and demanded money, according to a La Grange police news release.
Police said they are looking into whether there is a connection between the armed robbery and a recent one at the 7-Eleven at 6 E. 47th St. in La Grange.
Wayne Mobley, 62, entered 7-Eleven shortly before 2 a.m., made his demand, reached into the register and stole the money, police said.

Mobley left in a car heading west on Ogden from East Avenue to northbound La Grange Road, according to a police news release. The suspect was taken into custody without any problems near La Grange and Cermak roads, police said.
Officers were unable to find any weapons on the suspect, the release said. Police said they believe the suspect threw the weapon outside his car. An extensive search was conducted to find the weapon, but because of the snow, the handgun has not been found, police said.

Police are asking residents to call 911 immediately if they find the handgun or any potential weapon.
Police did not release the name of the suspect.
